Well this tool is really handy for schools without a lot of tablets, laptops or computers.
Plickers is a way to create a quiz without really using ICT in your class.
You just need 3 things;
- Digibord for showing the results and asking questions.
- One smartphone with a camera and the application Plickers on it.
- The vote-notes that are free to download from the website of Plickers.
What do you have to do?
As Teacher:
As first you need to create a free account on Plickers. On the website you can make your own class with every student. Every student will be bound to their own number. (1 = John, 2 = Jackie, 3 = Rose, etc.)
The teacher will give every student their vote-note (you can download them here). The teacher will give the student a question where they can answer it with A, B, C or D.
When the students put up their vote-note you have to scan them with your Plickers application. The answers of the students are showing on your phone and they will pop up on your computer.
As teacher you can choose to show the answers or not showing the answers.
As student:
You'll receive a vote-note from your teacher. You can see on the vote-note down below that there are 4 different ways to hold the note. If you hold it like this you will give the answer B. If you turn it 90 degrees clockwise you will answer A. When your teacher gives you an question you can choose what answer you'll give by holding the letter on top (from the right answer) up in the air and wait for the teacher to scan it.

Advantage of Plickers:
- For schools without tablets, computers, laptops, etc. it's the perfect way to make interactive lessons.
- It's easy to use if you laminate the vote-notes and let the students keep them.
- It's an easy way of making a lesson more interactive.
Disadvantage of Plickers:
- You can't say what answer is directed to what letter. You have to show then in Word, Prowise or something else.
- You can't show on the Digibord what the right answer is. You only can show who has what answer.
